The different greens
Seed varieties
Our seed varieties are certified Organic and grown as local as possible. They are chosen for their suitability for their use as microgreens which includes flavour profile, germination rate and speediness of growing.
Sunflower
Perhaps the staple microgreen, Sunflower shoots have been chosen for their vigorous and productive growth. They have a nutty flavour and a crunchy texture, substantial enough to be cooked with but fresh and tasty enough to bulk out a salad. Rich in nutrients and minerals and an easy & fast grow.
Buckwheat
Like Sunflower, Buckwheat has also been chosen for its vigor, however Buckwheat is more of a salad green, it has a delicious, delicate taste & texture and is visually appealing with its abundant bright red stems. As with most microgreens, they pretty much go with anything, however these are at their best in a sandwich.
Nutritional Mix
Radish, Broccoli & Kohlrabi
The Nutritional Mix allows you to grow a premixed salad together in the tray, providing you with an extremely nutritious varied set of greens. The densely nutritious broccoli & the colourful kohlrabi being brought up, quick and strong, with the fast growing vitamin C rich radish makes for a delicious salad, grown together.
Brassica Blend
Kohlrabi, Broccoli & Cabbage
Our brassica blend gives you the condensed health benefits of each of these tiny brassicas in a grown together salad. Have raw, add to soups, curries etc, these earthy yet light greens contain a lot of good for their size.
Radmix
Radish diakon, Radish vulcano & Radish China Rose
This mix gives spice and drama. The mixture of the radishes cools their heat, whilst they remain spicy, it's a more passive warmth than any of them individually. The drama comes from the pre-mixed luscious greens and varied heights of the different varieties speckled with the dark of the Vulcano throughout it. A spicy (but not too spicy) and pretty salad mix.
Pea shoots
Peas take a little longer to come to harvest - more like 10 days, but they're well worth the wait. They have a distinct pea flavour but it's milder and more delicate; less green. If you're patient enough they can be harvested a second time from the resprouted shoots. They can be eaten raw but are best served sauteed with garlic and chilli served on toast.
Broccoli
The earthy and light Broccoli offer a slightly lower yeild comapred to some of our other microgreens that they make up with by their nutritional composition. They provide a rich green flavour to meals whilst retaining the lightness that microgreens bring.
Radish
This Radish brings some heat. Whilst it retains its 'normal' Radish flavour, if you don't like normal radish, you may still like this. It's spicy and green, if you don't want the heat and want to cool it down, mix it with other microgreens or leaves, it drastically reduces the spice.
